More of my latest favorites. :aww:  Nothing much is going on with me. There's currently a writing contest being held at my school, so I'm interested in entering that...the deadline is the 15th. Beware the Ides of March. ;) This weekend's a long one, so on Tuesday, I'll be visiting an old teacher, I'm excited for that. Nothing else to report...Hope you're all doing well. :)

Chimera II by sexties Little Hero - Story by patrick-q Of Women and SwordsAs long as they have existed
          There have been wars
I speak of course of women,

he had eyes of a demented child
his mouth, a monsoon,
routinely tore down forests
of new saplings
With soft bark comes pain
with pain comes lessons
then, like a loyal mutt,
learning trots slowly behind
As the body ripens, expands
as the mind flies away like a rare bird
we wear these things
clutching them to breast
alone at night in bed
or on the toilet
or at work
or driving in a silent car
Recollections
like ripples across a puddle
before returning to the moment

called poetry—
quiet with little fuss—
looking up
& molding us as god.
Her small verbs
span indifferent cities,
aloof mountain ranges,
& the hours of
blank faced clocks
between sunrises.
She knows there are
worse things than dark—
the black waters of the mind
are scarier.
We have created her
from love,
pressed & dried bouquets
& willow sticks—
things only we
could make a life from.
One day we'll wake up
as different people
but the magic
of a shared procreation
will keep us tied—
wanting to see each other's
newly patchworked faces.
We have a daughter
called poetry—
holding our hands together
& keeping the spaces & cracks
from collapsing our lives.
